it's not so much the object that causes the spots
that attracts the attention
(I must admit, that in this case I haven't even thought about looking for the origin
of the bright spots of light on the cellarfloor)
but the spots themself are pretty
unexpected and joyous
an element in architecture -- oriental playful lighteffects
through perforated shades
and now, seeing these spots, I am reminded
of a painting by maillol
on it a young lady, sitting on a bank
umbrella next to her
but she is not important
not more than, for instance, the funny pallissade
of thin stakes
or the jubilant sunny background of green fields
no, the most important in this picture
are the wild patterns on the large sandy floor
drawn by the shadows of the branches above
(branches that are hardly depicted by the painter)
